Maybe this is a stupid question, but how does the CHP appointment work? Can they come to you or do you have to lug the bike over to them, because you can't just jump on the bike and drive it there right?

you take it there. you can get a temp permit to ride it there. the permit is good for one month.. once you get the permit make you appointment that day or even before.. it can take a good while to get an appointment.

Thanks for the help, that sounds pretty good.
Do I get the temp permit when I do the first application at the DMV or is that something I need to apply for separately?

Zac
Dude you are to cool even if your willing to travel to Oceanside. Not sure where your at but damn if your willing to go out of your way to help folks out. My jaw hit the floor, its unusual to find folks like you in the world.
OK, down to buiz, I am stationed in Japan, on this end to register a bike is simple i just need a title. Well let me back up, I will be ordering a 250 by the end of the year. But doing my homework so everything is planned out. I will being ordering it and haveing it shipped to Japan and built in Japan. Now getting the title saying its an American bike is what I need and paper work saying the bike meets EPA? and DOT? spec. or I will hav problems getting it back to the states through imgration. Any ideas or should I have a friend do the DMV waltz for me. But then I cant get the bike there for the CHP check. Plus the whole 20 days prior thing I won't be back for like 3 years. If I can get a letter from Killer or Kelly same person? Saying the motor meets Emissions or from Lifan, that will help I should get that just in case. But i need the bike first, But any ideas let me know. If you have no clue, thanks for reading and thanks for helping out other folks that are back home. I read so much about kikker being bad. AN dis on it. Instead of stopping and asking or figureing out what to do. Everyone wants to build custom bikes but don't want to get durty doing it or doin alittle fabrication work. But anyway as soon as I saw the bike I was sold. First I was looking at the Johnny Pag bar hopper. Then came into the kikker. Damn sexy bike. Thanks for your time and patience.
