I just scabbed a stator from an extra motor I had. got it all back together and the 10 amp fuse has NOT blown yet. I havent started it, but before i couldn't even get to this point it would blow them quick Thanks for the help. Now I just hope I can rode today.

ok now when I hooked the voltage regulator back up it ble the fuse but it didn't blow when the staor was hooled back up. i would like to if WHEN the battery terminal broke in the battery box could it have shorted out both the STATOR & the REGULATOR therfore causing me all this damn headache? just wondering. You said the terminal on the battery broke so you fixed it. How did you do this? Common to all the trouble is the battery so mebe the problem is there.

I cut off the old one and attached a new one just like you would do in a car, lawn mower ect. battery is good and charged

Yes Billy it did but when I hooked the regulator back up it blew fuses again. i was wondering did that battery cable short out both stator and regulator/ is this possiable. I think it could be bu need a second opion. Thanks

So u hav unplugged the bar switches/headlite/tail light before u tried swapping the stator?

Yes Tim I did. I dont have anything plugged up right now except the regulator when I plugged it up the fuse blew.

It sounds like you have a short somewhere in your ground continuity. Look at the places where you would least expect in the same circuit ground wire. You probably have an open ground due to friction wear from the stainless wire cover braid end somewhere. That stuff cuts like a knife.

There is only the regulator plugged up. Im gonna change it tommorrow. Too tired and freakin HOT to deal with it anymore today. It was 105 today

might i suggest using a multimeter and going through it all,,it will tell ya exactly where the prob is

if the stator fried.... could have fried your regulator.... why not.....
