since i will be getting a 250 knock as soon as they are available... i wanted to look into painting the engine satin black since it only comes silver and chrome (i think)... i contacted VHT directly and explained what type of engine it was and what product they recommended... i also asked them if it would cause the engine to run hot or overheat... figured i would post this in case any others want a black engine

here is the reply i got:

Thank you for visiting the VHT website. We appreciate your taking the
time to contact us.

Our Engine Enamel should not be an issue with this engine as I doubt it
will ever get past 300-350F. The product will not hold any heat into the
engine, the ceramic simply helps to evenly dissipate the heat throughout
the coating.

Thank you again for your inquiry. Please let me know if you have any
other questions.

Sincerely,
Eric

I've used their paint on my crf50 engines without any problems. It rubs off fairly easy though, where ever my shoes touched the cases it would rub off.

I also sprayed my engine House of Kolor Black Diamond and that paint is holding up great so far so you can even look into that,,but of course it will be much more $$$$$$$

Old school motocross trick; paint your engine black for better heat dissipation back in the day when EVERYTHING was air cooled.
