first off i apologize for the blurry pics in advance. my turdtastic camera apparently needs the hands of a brain surgeon to get clear pics. alot of you guys can do this in your sleep but i'm sure some can use the lesson. this can be done on the ground but i wanted better pics and went over the knock for loose stuff. this is the only tool needed, a 15/16" socket with an extension and ratchet:

this is your dipstick, pull it out first and place it where you can't miss it. that's an old automotive trick so you don't forget to add oil

put a drain pan under the bike. i used a high tech tupperware model seen here. remove the drain plug, screen and spring also in the pic

let er drain then reinstall the screen, spring and drain plug. wipe off any drippy drips. in case any of you are wondering; yes that is a redneck lift complete with safety features. this model includes 2 sawhorses (plastic), a chunk of silestone and custom cut 2x4 extensions. how safe is that!!!

now it's time to refill the oil

this is what i use. no shifting problems

this was my first oil change in 1100 miles. judging by the condition of the oil and amount that was in there i recommend changing your oil every 750 miles or less.....
